AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS
ZAGREB – ŠRC ŠALATA
Saturday 8.8.2026.
Amyl and the Sniffers, an Australian pub punk rock’n’roll foursome, will make their debut in our region at the Zagreb Šalata stadium on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
According to many, the most attractive and exciting live rock band of today is currently opening for AC/DC in stadiums on a major Australian tour, and they will return to Europe in mid-summer next year for a short festival tour with some solo performances. The Zagreb concert will be an opportunity to hear the fast, loud and energetic performance of the band that is conquering the world with its noisy and fun rock sound.
Amyl and the Sniffers are one of the most successful Australian music stories, and the chaotic garage rock band that honed their craft in Melbourne pubs are the new favorites of the music scene. The band consists of singer Amy Taylor, guitarist Dec Martens, bassist Gus Romer and drummer Bryce Wilson. What started in 2016 in a house in Melbourne, when they wrote, recorded and released their first EP in just 12 hours, grew into a new global sensation. They are loved by legendary rock bands, their music is compared to that of Iggy Pop or the Stooges, and the band is conquering the global scene at lightning speed with their live performances charged with raw energy and direct lyrics that indicate certain situations.
Along with the acclaimed debut of the same name, which won the award for the best rock album and praise from the media such as Pitchfork and NME, the release of “Comfort To Me” followed with singles such as “Guided by Angels” or “Security”. The band achieved extraordinary success during that time. Hordes of fans follow them around the world on sold-out tours, halls in Europe, North America, performances from Mexico, through India to Japan. From smaller club shows to big stages, the band is a regular at festivals like Primavera, Glastonbury, Coachella, Green Man, performing alongside names like Green Day or Foo Fighters.
The new album “Cartoon Darkness” talks about the climate crisis, wars and artificial intelligence, touching on politics, and the fact that, as they say, children are given information on a spoonful, and we all passively indulge in things that distract us and do not give us happiness. At the recent ARIA Awards, they dominated on home turf, winning awards for the likes of Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. The Guardian calls them the most exciting rock’n’roll band in recent years, the New Yorker says they leave the audience speechless, and Pitchfork says they’re simply raw, unpolished rock entertainment.
In the almost decade since they emerged from Melbourne’s pub rock scene, Amyl and the Sniffers have remained true to themselves, perfecting the balance of powerful, loud music and playfulness to become one of the most recognizable young rock bands in the world. Their fast, loud and fun rock will be unleashed on Šalata next summer. Tickets for the Zagreb concert go on sale on Friday, November 28th, at 10:00 AM through the CoreEvent system, and physical tickets will be available at Dirty Old Shop, Rockmark and Dallas Music Shop in Rijeka. The price of tickets will be 37 euros.
