FREEDOM OF FEAR, an Australian melodic/ tech/blackened metal band, opened the concert and I found them amazing, especially the vocalist Jade Monserrat. Their music is quite complex but the band skilfully puts all the elements into a coherent mass that will run you over by strict tech elements. Amazing gig!
WALKWAYS, an alternative metal band based in Tel Aviv, Israel which was formed in 2006, gave an impressive performance and it’s always interesting to have concerts which bring together bands of different backgrounds and genres to make the entire evening diverse and even more fun!
NE OBLIVISCARIS, a well-known Australian prog metal band came in front of a full venue in order to find that the band is amazed by the brilliant audience almost as much as vice versa. Founded in 2003 in Melbourne, this band has risen to become one of Australia’s premier metal acts. Their latest full-length album, Exul, was crafted during the pandemic and captures their bold, boundary-pushing musical vision. This release showcases the band’s impressive compositional skills, highlighting the unique blend of violinist and vocalist Tim Charles’ emotive voice with Xenoyra’s dynamic vocals, all amplified by powerful guitar work.
This concert was more like a sensory experience than a regular gig. Ne Obliviscaris gave an excellent set of 2 hours and completely won us over by excellent and witful communication with the audience. The band displayed relentless energy and highly positive outbursts of pure genius of combining aspects formerly known as those that can not be mixed. The band proved to be a highly powerful creative, emotional and technically skilled musical entity which shouldn’t be missed at any occasion you have to see the band live.
The band presented very technically precise and complex mixture of elements that go through numerous extremes and succeeded it the most important task: they made us forget our troubles, traumas and problems as you almost have to use all that extra mental effort to follow what’s happening on the stage that you find that only their music remains. That’s an extreme power only great bands possess!
