Boogaloo once again proved why it remains one of Zagreb’s premier homes for heavy music, as Biohazard returned after nearly three decades to deliver a performance worthy of their legendary reputation. Supported by New York metalcore veterans Sworn Enemy and Croatian hardcore force Striking 13, the evening celebrated the enduring vitality of hardcore in all its uncompromising forms. From the moment the first riffs rang out, the venue radiated an intensity that never subsided, fuelled by an audience whose enthusiasm matched the performers’ relentless energy.

Opening the night, Striking 13 demonstrated exactly why they continue to be one of the strongest names on the domestic hardcore scene, combining crushing riffs, razor-sharp precision and genuine stage charisma. Their confident performance immediately established the night’s uncompromising tone while earning an enthusiastic response from a crowd that embraced every breakdown and singalong. Sworn Enemy followed with an equally commanding display, showcasing the metallic edge and streetwise aggression that have defined the New York outfit for more than two decades, with every song delivered through tight musicianship and undeniable conviction. Their blend of hardcore, crossover and metalcore proved the perfect bridge to the evening’s headliners, leaving the audience fully warmed up and eager for what followed.

When Biohazard finally took the stage, it became immediately apparent that the original line-up has lost none of the chemistry that made the band pioneers of hardcore, metal and hip-hop fusion. Evan Seinfeld, Billy Graziadei, Bobby Hambel and Danny Schuler performed with remarkable authority, balancing raw aggression with the effortless confidence that only decades of experience can provide. Drawing heavily from classics while introducing material from the acclaimed Divided We Fall, the band crafted a set that honoured their legacy without becoming trapped by nostalgia. Highlights included “Wrong Side of the Tracks”, “Urban Discipline”, “Tales From the Hard Side”, “Punishment” and “Hold My Own” – all of which ignited massive crowd participation and reaffirmed the timeless power of their opus. Complete chaos arose during the performance of “Punishment”, when the entire stage was soon filled with the audience in total chaos and delirium. Complete chaos and adoration could be cumed up in the feedback the audience got from the band:

„We still remember our show in Croatia back in the 90s and carry it in our hearts! We love you motherfuckers! Biohazard loves you, all of New York HC loves you!“

What truly elevated the concert, however, was the remarkable connection between the musicians and the audience, whose constant movement, deafening singalongs and unwavering energy transformed Boogaloo into something far greater than a concert hall. Every chorus echoed back from the packed floor, every breakdown sparked another circle pit, and every applause break reflected genuine appreciation rather than routine enthusiasm. In an era when reunions often rely on nostalgia alone, Biohazard instead delivered a performance driven by passion, authenticity and uncompromising musicianship. Zagreb rewarded every band with a reception worthy of the occasion, making this a triumphant celebration of hardcore’s enduring spirit and one of the year’s most memorable heavy music events.
