
A real irish punk treat arrives on Sunday, March 1st at Good Vibrations in the Swamp! For the first time in Croatia we will be celebrating with the Canadian rowers The Mahones! The ticket price is 70 kuna in advance, it will cost 90 in the day. In the sale they can be bought at Dirty Old Shop.
The Mahones is a Canadian irish-punk band founded as it is, on St. Patrick was founded in 1990 by Finny McConnel who was born in Dublin with the idea of having a band that nurtures a working class ethic with a strong influence of Irish culture. The main influence of the band is Poguese, of which they derived the name itself, “Pogue Mahones” in Irish means “kiss my ass”. They have released 13 albums so far, and the last of them is Love, Death & Redemption to promote Swamp on this occasion. They have collaborated with many well-known names such as Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers), Simon Townshend (The Who), Ken Casey and Rick Barton (Dropkick Murphys), Dave Baksh (Sum 41), Johnny Fay Gord Sinclair (The Tragically Hip) , Ian D’Sa (Billy Talent) … With their songs they enriched several films, of which “Paint The Town Red 2010” found itself in the final scene of “Boxer” with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale winning two Oscars. Fans of bands like Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, The Pogues, Rumjacks and The Real McKenzies just can’t miss this concert.
