While, on the surface, diligent efforts are being made to ensure our future remains as uncertain as possible, things are quite clear in the underground: distortion, heavy riffs, and a healthy distrust of humanity. One might say it’s a perfectly decent foundation for a get-together.
“Crnilo” (Darkness) brings together four bands, giving us another chance to see just how ready the Zagreb audience is for some serious death metal. Joining the bill are the American acts Drawn and Quartered and Noroth, while the local front is held down by Metuzalem and In Dakhma. There’s plenty to listen to here—and, by god, plenty of reason to get up off the couch.

Drawn and Quartered hail from a corner of Seattle that spent the nineties digging much deeper than the grunge scene. Their roots stretch back to the beginning of that decade, and they have spent years in stubborn pursuit of a dark, suffocating, and uncompromising brand of death metal. From the debut “To Kill Is Human” to “Hail Infernal Darkness” to the album “Lord of Two Horns”, released in 2025 on Nuclear Winter Records, this band persistently nurtures a sound that time only adds new layers of rot. Deep vocals, frantic beats and guitars that threaten from every angle. For devotees of the darkest corners of the genre, this is a name that makes obligations shift.

Active since 2019, they build their death metal on massive riffs, grime and slow, relentless pressure. In their sound, the heaviness of Bolt Thrower, the darkness of Incantation and the rawness of Cyanide meet, and the album “Sacrificial Solace” shows well how far they can take such a combination.
Human decay, religious rot and authorities whose expiration date has long since expired form the thematic background. So they won’t run out of material for songs anytime soon.

𝗜𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗸𝗵𝗺𝗮 is a local death metal trio that will add another reason to come to the whole story. Their debut “He Who Sows the Ground” combines roughness, rhythm changes and melodic passages, and their performance at the first Zagreb Death Fest has already connected them with our small community of noise fans. It’s time to continue that acquaintance in front of the stage.

𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is the team from Zagreb started from crust punk, then took their riffs into progressive death metal. The rage is still there, it just got a few more ways to complicate your life.
Their single “Dree” brings dissonance, dark atmosphere and sudden changes that throw you from rumble to acoustic discomfort. Underneath everything runs the story of alienation and class reality. Reason enough to welcome them into this little festivity of ours.

Four bands and enough reasons to get together while they still allow us to call this kind of thing a cultural program. Listen to the bands, gather the team and come support the whole concert. Meetings like this deserve a full space and an audience from the first riff. And let’s skip that familiar “too bad I wasn’t there” sentiment this time around.
Early-bird tickets at the pre-sale price of €12 have sold out. You can find tickets via the TooTooT platform—they are €15, or €18 on the day of the concert.
