Villagers of Ioannina City will be coming to Zagreb for the third time on March 7, 2026 at Boogaloo, bringing a unique blend of psychedelic rock, stoner sound and traditional Greek melodies. The band is known for their atmospheric performances that transcend the boundaries of a classic rock concert and turn it into a musical-travel experience, and the Croatian audience is surely eagerly awaiting them once again after they have already built a cult status in the region. On this occasion, they will promote their third studio album “Venceremos”, which will be released by Napalm Records. Early bird tickets are sold out! The pre-sale price is 27 euros, while tickets on the day of the concert will cost 30 euros. Physical tickets are available at the Dirty Old Shop. Villagers of Ioannina City were founded in 2007 in the Greek city of Ioannina. Since their inception, they have been dedicated to creating an authentic sound that connects modern rock with the heritage of Greek folk music. Traditional instruments such as the clarinet and bagpipes play an important role in their arrangements, creating a hypnotic atmosphere that sets them apart on the global stage. Their music is inspired by nature, ancient spirituality and universal human experiences, and concerts are often described as mystical rituals that provide the audience with emotional and physical liberation, as the Zagreb audience has already witnessed.
Their first album “Riza”, released in 2014, attracted the attention of the audience and critics thanks to its innovative approach to world music within a rock framework. Their second album “Age of Aquarius”, released in 2019, marked their breakthrough on the international scene and confirmed them as the leaders of a new wave of progressive and psychedelic rock. As the album’s name suggests, the Greeks explore themes of spiritual awakening, the cycle of nature and the search for inner truth, and their songs often transition into long instrumental sections that create the impression of a musical journey. They are especially popular among fans of psychedelic rock, world fusion and progressive music, and their concert at Boogaloo on the wings of their new album promises to be one of the most special musical experiences of 2026, just like the previous two times in Močvara.
