KIKO LOUREIRO, ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL GUITARISTS OF THE METAL SCENE, WILL ARRIVE AT ZAGREB BOOGALOO ON WEDNESDAY, 10. 12. 2025, AS PART OF A EUROPEAN TOUR CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF HIS CAREER, WITH SPECIAL GUESTS METAL KLAPA METAKLAPA
On Wednesday, 10. 12. 2025, organized by Black Label Events, another world-famous guitar virtuoso will arrive in Croatia for the first time – Brazilian metal legend Kiko Loureiro, known for playing in metal giants Megadeth and the Brazilian metal band Angra. Loureiro is coming as part of his “European Tour 2025”, on which he celebrates 35 years of his career and presents his new, seventh studio album “Theory of Mind”. Special guests will be the Croatian a cappella group Metaklapa, performing in front of Kiko!
Metaklapa brings a new spirit to the songs of Iron Maiden and other metal legends, without any instruments, but with brilliant polyphonic vocals, i.e. klapa singing. Their vocal performances have been recognized by the biggest players in the heavy metal industry. In addition to Iron Maiden songs, they also perform hits by artists such as Motorhead, Bruce Dickinson, Helloween and others, and for this occasion they will also perform songs by the band Angra, in which Kiko played, so this will be the perfect introduction to the concert of the metal virtuoso on the guitar, Kiko Louriro! Metaklapa held its first live performance at the world’s largest and most famous festival Wacken Open Air in front of thousands of fans and repeated it three more times. They also performed in front of Steve Harris from Iron Maiden, who was delighted with their performance. Metaklapa performed throughout Europe at the most prestigious venues in 2025, Kleine Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, but also with the Philharmonic Orchestra in 2024, Dvorana Vatroslav Lisinski. Their success was quickly noticed by global promoters, and in July 2025, Metaklapa was invited to a Brazilian tour of prestigious theaters, which would later be expanded to a South American tour. Metaklapa is preparing a promotional, presentation tour around the world, including the UK, the USA, Australia and Japan.
Kiko Loureiro began studying music and playing acoustic guitar at the age of 11. At the age of 13, inspired by the playing of Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhoads, he switched from acoustic to electric guitar, and at the age of 16 he was already playing with two bands – Legalize and A Chave. At the age of 19, he joined the power metal band Angra, with whom he released his first album “Angels Cry” in 1993 and with whom he released six more studio albums until his departure in 2015. In 2015, Loureiro joined the metal legends Megadeth, where he replaced former guitarist Chris Broderick. He participated in the recording of two Megadeth albums – “Dystopia” (2016) and “The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!” (2022). At the end of 2023, he leaves Megadeth and devotes himself to a solo career.
Loureiro is known for his technical guitar playing skills, often including techniques such as two-handed tapping, sweep picking (full-sweep arpeggios), alternate picking, hybrid picking, artificial and natural harmonies, and combining legato and staccato in the same string or phrase. He is also known for his instructional and demonstration videos, as well as writing columns and appearing on the covers of magazines such as Cover Guitar, Guitar & Bass, and Young Guitar.
On stage at the Boogaloo club in Zagreb, he will be joined by top musicians – Bruno Valverde on drums, Felipe Andreoli on bass guitar and Luiz Rodrigues on second guitar – creating a powerful soundscape that combines technical precision and raw passion. Loureiro has recently been filling halls around the world, and the Zagreb audience will have the opportunity to witness his virtuosity live.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, Metaklapa will begin its performance at 8:00 PM, and Kiko Loureiro’s concert will begin at 9:00 PM.
