Heidenfest premieres in Zagreb! Yes, you read that right, finally after 18 years since its first edition. Paganfest in February was an unprecedented metal spectacle, something similar awaits us on January 21, 2026 at Boogaloo. The Zagreb audience will be taken to the world of pagans, folk, trolls and Vikings by no less than five bands: Korpiklaani, who returns to Croatia after six years, and there are also Finntroll, Heidevolk, Trollfest and The Dread Crew of Oddwood.
Early bird tickets are sold out! The pre-sale price is now 45 euros. If by any chance they remain, they will cost 50 euros on the day. Physical tickets will soon be available at Dirty Old Shop.
Korpiklaani is a Finnish folk metal band from Lahti, founded in 1993, which originally operated under the names Shamaani Duo and Shaman, and since 2003 has had its current name. Their music combines heavy metal with traditional folk instruments such as accordion and violin, and the lyrics are often inspired by nature, mythology and fun with a few drinks. The band is led by singer and guitarist Jonne Järvelä, and the current line-up also includes Kalle “Cane” Savijärvi (guitar), Jarkk Aaltonen (bass), Samij Perttula (accordion), Samuli Mikkonen (drums) and Olli Vänskä (violin). Their discography includes numerous albums, the latest of which “Rankarumpu” was released last year.

Finntroll is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki, founded in 1997. They combine elements of black metal and death metal with the traditional Finnish folk style of humppa, and most of the songs, which is very interesting, are sung in Swedish. The lyrics often deal with myths, trolls, conflicts between pre-Christian beings and the entry of Christianity into the imaginary spaces of trolls. The members of the current line-up include: Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns (vocals), Samuli “Skrymer” Ponsimaa (guitar), Mikael “Routa” Karlbom (guitar), Sami “Tundra” Uusitalo (bass), Aleksi Virta (keyboards), Henri “Trollhorn” Sorvali (keyboards/guitar in studio effects) and Heikki “Mörkö” Saari (drums).

Trollfest (stylized as TrollfesT) is a Norwegian folk metal band from Oslo, formed in 2003. They combine metal with folk elements – accordion, saxophone, guitars – and write lyrics mostly in the fictional language “Trollspråk” (a mix of Norwegian and German). They are known for their fun, energetic performances and humor, often featuring trolls, beer and partying, as befits them. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trollfestofficial

Heidevolk is a folk/viking metal band from the Dutch city of Arnhem, founded in 2002 under the name Hymir. Their songs are mostly in Dutch, and thematically deal with nature, myths of Germanic origin, and the history of the province of Gelderland. The style is characterized by clean male vocals (often in a duet), a combination of powerful metal riffs and folk melodies, and very energetic performances, as the Zagreb audience has already had the opportunity to witness.

The Dread Crew of Oddwood is an American “pirate” folk/metal band from San Diego, founded in 2008. They use exclusively acoustic instruments, which is why they call their style “heavy mahogany”. The band writes songs that talk about piracy, adventure, joy, battles and themes that follow the atmosphere of outlawry and maritime romance.
