World War I-themed metal songs have been written by many, especially within the extreme metal genre – think of Endstille, God Dethroned or Hail of Bullets, which have set the bar high. However, none of them took this concept as seriously as a team called 1914. He also evokes the era in the appearance of the Ukrainian band, and in his music he combines black and death metal elements with dramatic plays, stirring melodies and majestic doom metal bases.
