“ONE ASSASSINATION UNDER GOD”
Twenty years after they rocked the Pula Amphitheatre with their performance, the rock shock band Marilyn Manson is returning to Croatia again, leaving no room for indifference. This musical and stage phenomenon has been causing fascination for decades, and will arrive at the Arena Zagreb on July 16, 2026 as part of the “One Assassination Under God” tour. Tickets are on sale from Friday, December 5, in the Eventim system.
Marilyn Manson represents a phenomenon of the alternative scene and one of the most intriguing rock shock artistic concepts of today, and since its very beginnings in 1989, it has functioned as a combination of glamour and grotesque designed to provoke and expose. A catalog of twelve albums, including the current “One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1” (2024) and the announced follow-up, has established them as musicians pushing the boundaries of artistic freedom. After they started a world tour last year and started filling European venues, it is clear that the return is not a sentimental gesture, but a precisely orchestrated occupation of a creative space that was never completely abandoned.
The name of the frontman, Brian Hugh Warner, as well as the entire band, was created by combining the names “Marilyn Monroe” and “Charles Manson”. The frontman started his career as a journalist with the attitude that for the media and the sex symbol and the leader of a murderous cult, they are only sensationalist figures, and this choice clearly showed that he aims for provocation and criticism. They released their first album in 1994 under the then new publishing house of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), and their second album, “Antichrist Superstar”, brought them world fame. Today, in addition to music, they are also active in visual and film arts.
Although the band has not yet completed this year’s part of the “One Assassination Under God” tour, they have already announced new festival dates and concerts for next year, including Zagreb.
