Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneers and fathers of the so-called Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates. More about this can be seen in the documentary Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary, released by Century Media and filmed in their hometown in April 2009. The band was founded in 1989 by then-guitarist and current vocalist Mikael Stanne and guitarist Niklas Sundin, under the name Septic Broiler, while their style had a thrash undertone that many compare to early Death. During this period, Anders Fridén, who is now the vocalist of In Flames, joined the band, and with them he recorded their debut album “Skydancer”. Since then, the band has released 12 more albums. The most recent of them, “Endtime Signals”, saw the light of day in August 2024 (Century Media) and will be promoting it on this occasion at Boogaloo. The album is the first to feature bassist Christian Jansson and drummer Joakim Strandberg Nilsson, with the lyrics of all songs signed by vocalist Mikael Stanne. The band, in addition to the aforementioned, today also includes Johan Reinholdz on guitar and Martin Brändström on keyboards.

Formed in 1992 in the suburbs of Lisbon, Moonspell has become one of the most recognizable names in European metal. The Portuguese gothic metal visionaries introduced themselves to the world with the acclaimed underground EP “Under the Moonspell” and their legendary debut for the Century Media label, the album “Wolfheart” from 1995. Their next album, “Irreligious” from 1996, raised the band to a higher level of global recognition. Since then, the band has not stopped touring and creating new, diverse music, keeping their large fan base on all five continents always interested in their contemporary atmospheric metal and passionate live performances, which has certainly ensured their enviable popularity.
In 2021, they released their 12th album “Hermitage”, a release that fans and critics declared one of the best albums of that year. In addition, they continued their significant concert activities, celebrating three decades on stage in front of their loyal fans. It is also interesting that their video Finisterra from 2006 was directed by Ivan and Josip Čolić (I CODE TEAM, Rakovica). The band today consists of Fernando Ribeiro – vocals, Pedro Paixão – keyboards, guitar, Ricardo Amorim – guitar, backing vocals, Aires Pereira – bass and Hugo Ribeiro – drums.

Hiraes is a German melodic death metal band from Osnabrück, formed in 2020, consisting of former members of the band Dawn of Disease and Britta Görtz, former singer of the band Critical Mess. Their name comes from the Welsh word “hiraeth”, which, in short, means nostalgia. So far, they have released two albums: “Solitary” (2021) and “Dormant” (2024), which they will promote on this occasion. It is worth noting that both albums were released on Napalm Records.

It would be a sin to miss this concert at Boogaloo, so make sure you get your tickets on time. Hangtime is also organizing their performance at Belgrade’s Hangar the day before.
